Guidelines for authors

1st SUSTENS meeting

4-5 June, Virtual

Abstract

The 1st SUSTENS Meeting cordially invites all authors to submit their abstracts through the Abstract Submission portal. The authors can summarize the main aspects, methods, impact and results of their work:
  • Either in a Short abstract of up to 500 words as plain text during the Abstract Submission process
  • Or in an Extended abstract of up to 4 pages prepared using the Abstract Template and submitted in .doc or .docx format (up to 2 MB). 

Notification

All abstracts (Short/Extended) must be written in English and will be evaluated by the scientific committee based on the following criteria: Originality/Novelty, Quality of Presentation, Scientific Soundness, Interest to the Readers, Overall Merit and English level.

– Authors of accepted Short and Extended abstracts can present their work as an oral or poster presentation in the 1st SUSTENS Meeting.

Accepted Extended abstracts will be published in Proceedings, MDPI (see Publication Opportunities below).

– Accepted Short abstracts and Not Accepted Extended abstracts will be included in the Book of abstracts of 1st SUSTENS Meeting.

In the case that the authors receive a notification for abstract revision, they will have the opportunity to submit a revised version of their work through the Abstract Submission portal. The review process will be followed based on the timeline as set in the Key dates.

By submitting their abstract to the 1st SUSTENS Meeting, the authors agree that they hold responsibility of the content provided to the organization committee as well as that they have ownership of the content and are capable of publishing it to the Meeting.

Conference presentation

The authors have the option to provide their preferences for an oral or poster presentation during the Abstract Submission process. Accepted abstracts submitted for poster presentation will be presented in the posters session of the meeting, while accepted abstracts submitted for oral presentation will be evaluated whether to present as a talk or poster. Guidelines for the poster format will be soon included.

Publication opportunities

Conference abstracts
All accepted Extended abstracts (1-4 pages) will be published in the Proceedings, MDPI (ISSN: 2504-3900).

Proceedings is an open access journal, published by the leading academic open access publisher, MDPI. It is dedicated to publishing all kinds of outputs from academic conferences. Each conference abstarct can be individually indexed, is citable via a digital object identifier (DOI) and is freely available under an open access license (Creative Commons Attribution License, CC BY). The copyright is retained by the author(s).

Full length manuscripts

Selected abstracts contributions will be invited to submit a full length manuscript to be published in a Special Issue of Processes Journal, MDPI (Impact Factor: 2.8) upon peer-review.

Processes (ISSN 2227-9717) provides an advanced forum for processes/systems in chemistry, biology, material, energy, environment, food, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, automation control, catalysis, separation, particle and allied engineering fields. The journal publishes regular research papers, communications, letters, short notes and reviews. Our aim is to encourage researchers to publish their experimental, theoretical and computational results in as much detail as necessary. There is no restriction on paper length or number of figures and tables. Manuscripts are peer-reviewed and a first decision provided to authors approximately 14.4 days after submission; acceptance to publication is undertaken in 2.6 days (median values for papers published in this journal in the first half of 2024). Lastly, it is indexed within Scopus, SCIE (Web of Science), Ei Compendex, Inspec, AGRIS, and other databases.
